In times of darkness, seek light.
It is embarrassing to admit that, as a political commentator, I’ve been having more and more moments when I run out of words. Out of analyses.
Impunity, ethnic cleansing, apartheid, daily humiliation, colonialism, racial supremacy, disposition, erasure, International Humanitarian Law and war crimes, hypocrisy, Fascism, genocide: the frameworks remain the same. Just the atrocities are new; new victims.
Witnessing Israel’s continuous destruction of Gaza, its daily massacres, and the level and scale of dehumanisation needed to allow this to happen can easily leave one speechless.
Sometimes, I think I have nothing new to say and nothing meaningful to add when something as grotesque as the Flour Massacre happens. I feel like I have all the words in the world but also no words when I see more and more images appear of children starved to death by the Israeli siege.
On some days, I don’t write anything more than a social media post. There are fewer words and more tears these days.
That’s why for the past months, I’ve been sharing resources that are both informative but also good for our hearts. These are the voices of conscience that we all need to hear, to listen with our hearts open, and, ideally, to be inspired by how unshakable they are and with how much love they are uttered.
In my project, just more recently I have recommended you and still recommend:
- A conversation between Dr. Gabor Maté and Dr. Cornel West
- A call for solidarity by Noura Erakat
- A speech by Chris Hedges
- An interview with Dr. Cornel West on The Red Nation Podcast.
That’s the same kind of message I want to share with you today.
I invite you to listen to my favourite family: the Maté family. Their courage, eloquence, authenticity, and moral compass are what I honestly wish the whole world had. And, especially when my own words and analyses seem futile, I remind myself THIS is the community I want to belong to. THESE are the people I aspire to stand with. And when I speak out, I do ❤️
If these are not the voices I would want to amplify, I don’t know what is.
Please watch it and share it widely.
Please remember your voice matters, even when it is difficult to speak through grief and rage.
Stay strong, check on others, and keep your heart open.
❤️💔❤️

Israel was just allowed to compete at Eurovision in 2026. This shows nothing new about Europe’s literally unstoppable desire to maintain good relations with Israel.
