How Fascist Regimes See Growing up, Standing up for People, and Writing Poems as Threats

A small girl in Gaza, a 37-year-old nurse in the U.S., a poet in Chile.

What they have in common in my story is that, by being murdered by fascist forces, their lives are inevitably intertwined – just like all of ours.

I recorded this video a day ago for my other project, Investigative Selfism. It’s less of a political analysis and an essay-like description of a visual metaphor that explains a simple truth: the more we know, the more things can hurt.

The more interconnected we are, the more there is for our hearts, minds, and souls to handle, inevitably.

This January felt like years. And if you’ve been feeling it, too, this video is definitely for you.
