This is the most brutal attack on Gaza so far by Israeli forces and it deserves all of our attention, concern, and action.
There’s so much to notice and deconstruct.
While Israeli families are still mourning their loved ones killed by Hamas attack, their losses are being weaponised to commit atrocities that are difficult to imagine at this time.
Residential buildings, medical facilities, UN shelters, and first aid responders bombed, white phosphorus used, and over 1,700 Palestinian children killed already.
At this hard and delicate time, this is what I am encouraging you to notice:
- How the narrative surrounding what we’re seeing is constructed,
- What literally criminal activities our governments are supporting,
- What scholars and historians are warning us about, and
- The hypocrisy that is enabling and directly supporting the destruction of Gaza.
This is by no means all we need to understand about Israel’s attack on Gaza and its vital context. But it is all extremely important if we actually care about human life and our humanity.
This is what I reference in my episode:
1. A list of videos I have recorded recently, including my interview on Euronews Serbia
2. My episode on the media silence surrounding what’s happening in Palestine
3. An excellent interview with Noura Erakat on Democracy Now
4. Public Statement: Scholars Warn on Potential Genocide in Gaza
5. Ten Stages of Genocide explained
6. Genocide Emergency Alert for Israel and Gaza, by Genocide Watch
I know it’s been very very hard for so many. I do want to add my video on simple tips for mental health these days, and I want to leave you with the same phrase I’ve been writing for weeks now:
Stay strong, check on others, and keep your heart open.

How Fascist Regimes See Growing up, Standing up for People, and Writing Poems as Threats
Hind Rajab was killed by Israeli forces two years ago today – and that is one of the threads of history that I talk about in my essay-like video. It’s about fascism, its victims, the heaviness of witnessing these horrors, and how we can move forward.
On U.S. State Violence: A Continuation, Not a Rupture
The recent murder of Alex Pretti by ICE agents is one painfully clear indication – or, rather, a reminder – that in the U.S, the violence abroad has come back as fascism at home.
After Having Enabled It for Decades, The EU Is Appalled by U.S. Imperialism — Only When It Threatens Its Shores
After having enabled U.S. and Israeli military aggression around the world, notice the EU appeal to international law when the territorial integrity of Denmark is threatened by the U.S.
