As I’m writing it, I understand how appalling it is that “another school massacre” is a common phrase now when we talk about Israel’s annihilation of Gaza.
That annihilation has not subsided. You may only be seeing less of it.
This is what my short video is about: it’s about the necessity to continue speaking out against the worst atrocities of this century.
The specific case I mention is one of Israel’s most recent massacres in Gaza. In this one, a school was bombed, leaving – this is not an exaggeration – only scattered body parts.
It was committed right after the US promised to send another 3.5 billion in military aid to Israel, ten months into Israel’s genocide.
I’ve expressed it multiple times in other formats on The Exploding Head, but it’s worth saying it again:
It cannot be clearer that this is America’s genocide.
It is the US that funds it, protects it, fuels it, and allows it to continue. It is the Biden administration that’s responsible, together with Israel, including a current US presidential candidate, so eagerly embraced by white feminists.
And if one day – a day I know so many of us have been waiting for – a lawsuit is filed to the International Court of Justice accusing the current US administration of failing to uphold the Genocide Convention, it will be no surprise to anyone who has a drop of critical thinking left.
But now, no matter how guilty, ashamed, depressed, tired, or embarrassingly apathetic we might feel, we really really need to keep on going.
We have to keep important things important.
As always: stay strong, check on others, and keep your heart open.
