I know I have been inviting you to support a number of amazing organisations that work in Palestine (and please continue supporting them if you can).

Yet now, I would also like to invite you to participate in a direct fundraiser that I myself am organising.
What I mean by that is that I am collecting contributions that I will then pass to my friend who lives in Cairo but has family in Gaza. He is fortunately able to send funds to them without the oftentimes draconian commissions.
His family will then pass the funds to the families who are in the most dire need of support, and who all already live in tents.
I myself will cover any fees incurred while passing your contributions to my friend’s account, so please know it is the full amount of whatever you are willing to send that will reach the families.
I know that, after almost two years of this genocide, initiatives like this one might seem less and less effective. But this is when they are needed the most — let’s not allow any empathy and solidarity fatigue to take over.
Be someone who joins in.
And please know any amount makes a difference.
And let’s remember: we’re not saving or helping anyone.
We are standing in solidarity.
We are sharing what we have with our brothers and sisters.

PS. Thank you all who have contributed to and spread the word about this fundraiser! We have quickly collected 966 EUR (updated: September 29, 2025), which I have passed to my friend, and his family has passed it to those in most need in Gaza.
I will be back in Egypt in September 2026 and will pass anything I have collected by then to my friend again.
