Here’s a litmus test for the ones in power: have they spoken out against the mass murder of girls in Iran by the U.S. forces?
If they haven’t, it might reveal two things. One, how much they really care about the well-being of women. Two, see if they aren’t already known for their actions and policies that harm them.
I know this is not new: the “liberation of women” is what has been used for warmongers in Iraq and Afghanistan, too, just to mention a few examples. And that is exactly why our antiwar voices have to be even louder now: because we know exactly what’s happening.
In my video, I point to Israel’s and the U.S.’s attacks on Iran and Lebanon, but I also talk about the casual disregard for what both Women’s Day is supposed to be about and why it’s needed in the first place.
It’s a video not just for Women’s Day, though, needless to say.
I want to leave you with a video by Jenan Matari, someone I highly recommend you follow if you’re not already.
It’s on the normalisation of violence unleashed onto children. I invite you to notice it as we’re seeing children mass murdered by Israel and the U.S. in Iran and Lebanon, in addition to Palestine, these days. Unsurprisingly, that mass murder is cheered and supported by those who claim they care about women’s rights.

What Israel’s Destruction of Lebanon Is Showing Us Painfully Clearly

Remember when Iran used to be called an irrational, unpredictable actor? Well, I invite you to notice any changes when it comes to irrationality, constructed narratives, and how war propaganda looks these days.
