In short, Israel will be allowed to compete at Eurovision this year.
What it shows is nothing shocking: that there is nothing – morals, legal consequences, human rights of European citizens themselves – that is above Europe’s desire to maintain its relationship with Israel.
Knowing this was the decision the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) just made, I leave you with one invitation.
It’s rather simple: if you watch Eurovision, yield your power as a consumer.
It’s not much, but you have it.
By using it, you’ll answer two questions that will sound harsh, I know. These are not pleasant parallels.
One, will your love for Eurovision be above anything else — just like the EU’s love for Israel is?
Two, will your desire to watch Eurovision disregard its appalling politics — just like when Zionists defend Israel, no matter its crimes?
It’s all – and more – in my video.
If you have been finding value in my political commentary, I invite you to contribute to rebuilding my friend Mahmoud’s media company. It used to employ Palestinian talent, and he wants to do exactly that again ✊🏽 Find my personal invitation in a video format if you scroll down to my selected Instagram posts.
As always: stay strong, check on others, and keep your heart open.

To exist in the world where Israel, too, exists – to physically be and function in such a world – is hard on our nervous systems. The new horrors of the kidnapping of Thiago Avila and Saif Abu Keshek are yet another reminder of how that heaviness won’t go away, as long as Israel -…
How Did Jon Stewart Miss The Greatest Piece of Satire on His Show?
Here’s a reminder that choosing to interview someone who history – and, hopefully, the ICJ – will remember as a war criminal and a genocide enabler, like Annalena Baerbock, is very much not cool. Especially when you have a massive platform.
