I was thinking about how to commemorate this day.
What to do, what to say, what to share.
I’ve written so much about different reports and UN announcements related to the children of Gaza that I wanted to commemorate this day with something a bit more touching. Perhaps a bit more appropriate for this solemn occasion.
These are the things that came to mind.
I start with a speech that has never left my mind (or my heart).
The collective guilt we carry is real, just like that collective grief and rage over what’s happening.
I have never been both so out of words and filled with things to share my whole life. All I can continue saying is we have to keep on moving forward.
Not for ourselves, our self-image, or even our sanity.
It’s for those children to whom we owe it.
I want to encourage you to donate to one or several of these organisations that I, too, support:
Defense for Children International – Palestine
United Palestinian Appeal
Palestine Children’s Relief Fund
I have selected some visuals from my project in case you’d like to download and share them with your community today:

PS. The US has just vetoed another UN resolution on Gaza ceasefire this week. The ones who support the mass slaughter of children deserve nothing less than a moral hell and to end their lives in prison as they’re sent there by the judges in the Hague.
As always: stay strong, check on others, and keep your heart open.

How Fascist Regimes See Growing up, Standing up for People, and Writing Poems as Threats
Hind Rajab was killed by Israeli forces two years ago today – and that is one of the threads of history that I talk about in my essay-like video. It’s about fascism, its victims, the heaviness of witnessing these horrors, and how we can move forward.

The recent murder of Alex Pretti by ICE agents is one painfully clear indication – or, rather, a reminder – that in the U.S, the violence abroad has come back as fascism at home.
