Whose voices you choose to amplify matters. Whose political career and choices you choose to normalise matters, too.
Having said that, have you seen who was on Jon Stewart’s show recently?
It was Annalena Baerbock, the current President of the UN General Assembly and Germany’s former Minister of Foreign Affairs.
If that all sounds fine, it really shouldn’t — not if you know a little bit about her stance on Israel.
In my video, which was, honestly, impossible not to make, I point to the biggest piece of satire that Jon Stewart chose not to comment on. Because, in the end, it is not journalism that he does, and so it shouldn’t be journalism that we should expect of him.
But when a progressive (!) comedian chooses to invite someone whose administration has a court case at the International Court of Justice for abetting genocide, and when that person talks about international law and represents an institution directly based on it, we have to point to that satire for him.

An Interview on Iran and Israel You Have to See
This is an absolute must-watch: Jeremy Scahill, one of the few journalists who interviews and is trusted by various actors, including the Iranian government, talks to Samir Mohyeddin about the U.S.-Iranian negotiations and Israel’s “fragile ceasefires” in Gaza and Lebanon. It’s a conversation good for our brains and conscience.
When Words Become Both The Representation And The Represented
The simplest propaganda technique – blatant lies – might be all that Israel and its supporters have left in their toolbox. Yet words with no meaning is what our leaders, too, have been resorting to for years now, following Israel itself.
Israel: The Only Country Whose Actions Never Represent Itself
If it is not its ministers, navy, police, prison guards, people marching on the streets, nor settlers protected by the army, who, then, actually represents Israel?
