We all saw the Kamal Adwan Hospital being destroyed by Israel’s Fascist army.
We all saw Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya getting abducted after bravely staying with his patients until the very end of this destruction.
Now, we saw him on one of the Israeli TV channels – hands and legs in shackles – and I have a comment on something seemingly simple but important to remember that came to mind.
My comment is very simple:
There are the bodies who torture others.
There are the bodies who support the torture and extermination of people. There are the bodies being tortured.
And then there’s you.
There’s your body.
What will YOU do?
How will YOU use your body – hopefully, in ways that are good for your soul?
Here’s my video (also as a podcast episode) on Hussam Abu Safiya, Fascism, and what it does to our bodies:
We will never forget Dr. Hussam’s abduction. One of the iconic images of this genocide. “A man bigger than the tank” 💔

And we have not forgotten his bravery, dedication, resistance, and unimaginable kindness. The humanity that still shines through Hussam and his smile:
Hussam’s spirit hasn’t been crushed.
We can’t let Fascism win – including in crushing our spirits either.
As always: stay strong, check on others, and keep your heart open.

To exist in the world where Israel, too, exists – to physically be and function in such a world – is hard on our nervous systems. The new horrors of the kidnapping of Thiago Avila and Saif Abu Keshek are yet another reminder of how that heaviness won’t go away, as long as Israel -…
How Did Jon Stewart Miss The Greatest Piece of Satire on His Show?
Here’s a reminder that choosing to interview someone who history – and, hopefully, the ICJ – will remember as a war criminal and a genocide enabler, like Annalena Baerbock, is very much not cool. Especially when you have a massive platform.
